A Helping Hand
Building confidence and self esteem is important to your child.
The UEA Nursery Team is always on hand to offer guidance and support when needed. Just being alongside them allows children to try new things.
The Nursery is split into rooms called Stars and Planets. Different ages are grouped by colours. Children very quickly learn which room is their own.
Daily Routine
It is not easy to describe a typical day as each day brings its own challenges and joys. When planning, staff build on what each child already knows in order to develop their curiosity and interest, providing first-hand experience through interaction with real objects and materials.
Daily activities include singing, yoga, music and movement. Weekly activities include Chinese Mandarin, cookery and dance sessions at the Sportspark.
The outside area allows children to have space to move and freedom to carry out activities on a larger scale. We have a small wooded area, a pond and the children have access to a variety of equipment for physical activities such as a multi-purpose activity centre, bikes, scooters and balancing apparatus.
The children are involved with gardening and growing their own vegetables and can also create their own Communication Friendly Spaces.
The children enjoy outings around the Campus and further afield to, for example, the Castle Museum, Library and Banham Zoo.
Any routine for babies is based around their own needs and stage of development. Their feeding times and sleeping times will fit in with their own natural rhythms.
